Sept. 28 -- Gulf Hydrocarbon Inc. has opened an automated wholesale distribution biodiesel terminal in Hammond, Ill., that will allow tankers, transport trucks and railcars to pick up biodiesel fuel 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The Wolf Lake Terminal, located just south of Chicago, has a 52 million gallon capacity. High-volume biodiesel wholesalers and distributors can add 100 percent biodiesel fuel to their diesel fuel mix at the pump.

The terminal will improve availability and give retail gas stations easier access to biodiesel blends, which opens the door for more public pumps in the area, said Ron Richardson, Gulf Hydrocarbon´s distribution specialist.

Gulf Hydrocarbon operates a similar, smaller biodiesel terminal in Houston, where the company is based.
