Boise, Idaho -- Biodiesel fuel is now available in Boise, but don't expect it to affect your prices any time soon.

Eleven Stinker Stations now carry the product, which is promoted as a way to reduce emissions in vehicles that use it.

However, it is still being sold for the same price as regular diesel fuel -- although Charley Jones, Stinker Station's president, says the competition created by biodiesel could one day affect the price of regular diesel.

"Indirectly, they may help reduce the price. At the very best, the very least it will do is keep the prices from rising higher," he said.

The city of Boise is getting on board with biodiesel. Mayor Dave Bieter announced an executive order directing all city departments to use biodiesel as often as possible.
