[Biodiesel News] Karl Rove's Seattle venture capital connections

Karl Rove's Seattle venture capital connections

Seattle Post Intelligencer - USA

... Martin Tobias, a venture partner at Ignition who also serves as chief executive of Seattle biodiesel producer Imperium Renewables, co-hosted the event. ...

Karl Rove rolled through town last week as part of a fundraiser for Rep. Dave Reichert, who is running for re-election in the Congressional District that includes the headquarters of Microsoft, Expedia and several other high-tech companies.

The Bush political adviser had a welcome audience from at least two Seattle area venture capitalists.

John Connors, the former Microsoft chief financial officer who joined Bellevue-based Ignition Partners last year, hosted a reception for Rove and Reichert at his home in Medina. Martin Tobias, a venture partner at Ignition who also serves as chief executive of Seattle biodiesel producer Imperium Renewables, co-hosted the event.

The Stranger asks if it is hypocritical for the CEO of a biodiesel company to hold a Republican fund-raiser with Karl Rove.
