Two Beaver County manufacturing firms will split $1 million in state funding to help them expand.

McDanel Advanced Ceramic Technologies LLC will use its share of the investment to expand and state funds will help Pennsylvania Biodiesel Inc., a startup manufacturer, build a new plant.

McDanel Advanced Ceramic Technologies, a manufacturer of high-quality refractory tubes, will create at least 16 jobs within three years and retain 81 existing employees by expanding its Beaver Falls operations.

The company is planning to purchase a nearby, 33,000-square-foot building where it will operate a new, specialized product line. McDanel also plans to buy new equipment. The total cost of the expansion project is $2 million.

Pennsylvania Biodiesel said it will create at least 40 jobs within three years by constructing and operating a biodiesel manufacturing plant and concrete additive blending facility in Monaca. The company will provide biodiesel fuel to tractor-trailer fleet operators. The total cost of its expansion project is $4 million.
